Dungeons & Dragons at Forge & Quest

Dungeons & Dragons is one of the biggest parts of our program and something many of our participants absolutely love.

Our campaigns are filled with storytelling, teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, ridiculous jokes, unexpected plot twists, emotional character moments, and the occasional completely unhinged decision that somehow becomes everyone’s favourite memory.

Participants work together to create characters, explore fantasy worlds, solve problems, battle monsters, and shape stories together as a group. Some people love the roleplaying and storytelling side of D&D, while others enjoy the strategy, world-building, miniature painting, map creation, or simply being part of the adventure.

One of the things we love most about D&D is how naturally it brings people together. Friendships grow quickly around a table when people are laughing together, solving problems as a team, and sharing a story.

Also, there is usually at least one participant attempting to adopt every creature the Dungeon Master introduces instead of fighting it.

What is Dungeons & Dragons?

Dungeons & Dragons (often called D&D) is a group adventure and storytelling game where players work together to create a story in a fantasy world.

Each player creates their own character — such as a wizard, rogue, fighter, bard, or other fantasy-style hero — with their own personality, strengths, backstory, and goals. One person acts as the “Dungeon Master” (DM), who guides the adventure, describes the world, introduces characters and challenges, and helps shape the story as the group plays.

Throughout the game, players explore towns, solve problems, uncover mysteries, battle monsters, make decisions as a team, and shape the direction of the adventure together. Dice are rolled to help determine what happens next, which often leads to some very funny, unexpected, and memorable moments.

D&D encourages:

  • teamwork and collaboration

  • communication and social connection

  • creativity and imagination

  • problem-solving and decision-making

  • confidence and self-expression

  • storytelling and roleplay

At Forge & Quest, D&D is one of the biggest parts of our program and something many participants genuinely look forward to each week. Some people love the roleplaying and storytelling side, while others enjoy strategy, world-building, miniature painting, map creation, character design, or simply being part of the shared adventure.
